He received the master degree from the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering and the doctor degree of Engineering from the Dept. of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Tokyo in 1988.
From 1978 to 1980, he studied at the University of Stuttgart and DFVLR (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt, currently DLR Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt) in Germany.
He worked for the Aerospace Company of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. from 1980 to 2005, and was seconded to ISAS (Institute of Space and Astronautical Science) of Ministry of Education (currently JAXA).
From 2005 to 2019, he worked for Kyushu Institute of Technology as the Professor to teach and conduct research of space engineering, and established University Start-up SPACE WALKER Inc. in 2017.
He is the Member of JSASS (Japan Society for Aeronautics and Astronautics) and AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics).
He is also the Member of Space Development and Utilization Committee, and International Space Station/ International Space Exploration Subcommittee at MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology).
Assistant Prof. Takahiro Fujikawa

Dr. Fujikawa received his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees all from the University of Tokyo in Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2011, 2013, and 2016, respectively.
After that, he became Assistant Professor at Kyushu Institute of Technology in 2016. Then, he moved to Tokyo University of Science in 2019, where he is currently working as Assistant Professor.
His research interests include aerospace engineering, especially future space transportation system, system optimization, and guidance and control.
He won the Best Paper Award of JPNSEC (Japanese Society for Evolutionary Computation) in 2019. He is a member of JSASS (Japan Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences), AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics), JPNSEC, and SICE (Society of Instrument and Control Engineers).
