From December 13 to 19, 2023, we conducted a wind tunnel test using a differential-pressure type FADS (Flush Air Data Sensing) system developed by our laboratory.

FADS is a system that measures surface pressure distribution through multiple micropores drilled on the surface to estimate air data necessary for flight, such as angle of attack and angle of lateral slip. The system can also estimate supersonic air data, which has been difficult to estimate with conventional methods.

The FADS system was calibrated using the pressure distribution obtained in this test. We also confirmed that accurate air data estimation is possible.
